Ethnically Ambiguous

My friend Andrew is a Puerto Rican Jew. He is hilarious, quirky, witty, brilliant and simply a good friend. He made my days in Patheticut more bearable. Andrew is flirty with words in a very authentic way. He was asked to particpate in onBeing, I am not surprised. onBeing is currently featured on the Washington Post's website.
onBeing is a full screen interactive video feature that takes you into the musings, passions, histories and quirks of all sorts of people.
Love the idea.

Check out this video of my friend Andrew. Enjoy.

OMG! cuteness!! can i adopt him? he looks like my younger brother and i'm a muslim desi. very ethnically ambiguous and deliciously adorable.

He has Egyptian/Arab hair, that's why he gets mistaken for it. I would think he was Israeli, Egyptian, or Lebanese because of the hair.

But I feel his pain in being ethnically ambiguous. No one ever seems to know WHAT I am, they just know that I am SOMETHING. You have the same problem too, don't you?

And tell Andrew I'm quite familiar with the six-puff coffin at the airport! Although I have also seen ethnically unambiguous people in it, too. First-hand accounts!

Roonie: I have never experience the puffin' coffin (knocking on wood). Hi, my name is Bengali Chick and I come off as ethnically ambiguous.

ok can he be ANY cuter??? or charming? that really sucks about the racial profiling thing...especially given the fact that he isn't even arab!!! quite the opposite, really! LOL
i really respect the fact that he can find the humor in both the situation and himself. hell, anyone who can defend geraldo has gotta be a good person. :)

Hey Tiffany, what's wrong with being Arab?

please don't misunderstand roonie, i wasn't saying there was anything wrong with being arab.

andrew is part jewish and over in the middle east the jews and arabs are not (for the most part) very friendly with one another. so i found it interesting that he is being racially profiled as an arab when really he is part jewish.

it was the irony i was pointing out more than anything. i certainly didn't mean to offend you. :(

Thanks all for the props! You know how hard it is to watch yourself on tape, so this helps...

ZONKERS, refound my blog (THIS blog) from 2005

Wow, it's cringe worthy in all of its honest glory.  I am in the middle of re-reading almost 500 posts.  It's awesome to relive most...
